Does anyone know if any of the car rental companies are offering iPod jacks now?

If not, I'm assuming best way to listening to iPod in rental car will be buying an iTrip and using that?

I go on business travel almost every week and I have not seen an iPod jack in any of my rental cars. I agree with you that the easiest and most consistent way to integrate your iPod into a rental car is via an FM transmitter.

Boo on iTrip... I say go for the cassette deck converter (<-- I can't choose between 'o' or 'e' for the last vowel  ).

I have this thing that plugs in to the iPod's headphone jack. They other side it a tape player. If you have a tape player in the car it a great and cheap way to player your iPod over you car speakers

Except what spider said, some cars don't seem to have tape players in them..

FM transmitter right now seems to be the most universal solution.

I haven't had a rental car in over 2 years that had a tape deck in it. I've had to resort to using an iTrip, which generally works pretty well, but isn't as consistent as I'd like.

Weird....every rental car I've been in in recent years has had a tape deck. The rental companies typically go for the base models, thus the tape deck.

I wish mine had tape decks. I don't rent anything fancy, generally Hertz or Budget, but I've had about 20 cars in the past couple of years and no tape decks. :(
