I managed to shatter the "glass" on the touch surface of my 1st generation Siri remote for my Apple TV. The remote buttons and touch surface still works, it just looks like a mosaic with a couple pieces missing.

Any suggestions how to repair the surface? Not trying to restore it to pre-customization condition, but would like to stabilize the remaining glass pieces while maintaining functionality. Playing with the idea of cutting a phone screen protector, but am thinking that this would be a one time deal and that glass will come out when/if the screen protector is removed.

Thank you in advance!

I bought a used 4K ATV that has no remote for $35. I was able to pair a Hisense remote and use my phone as well (typing or Siri)....Those remotes aren't cheap ($60) and I couldn't justify paying $60 + $35 when a refurb ATV 2022 is $109.

To answer your question, maybe try this?
