I dropped off my iPhone 15 Pro today for repairs, and I realized after leaving I didn’t ask how much it would cost. I have AppleCare+. I dropped it which destroyed the screen, front camera, and rear camera (cosmetically fine, but it won’t activate and it failed on diagnostics). It’s being left overnight because the store was close to closing when I arrived. When I first arrived I was told $29, but that was when I was only put down for a screen repair. As far as I’m aware I’m not getting a new unit, they’re repairing the existing one.

The best thing to do is wait until you get an itemized quote for repairs from Apple. That way you will know for sure ahead of time what the cost will be. It really depends on what the repair person finds damaged with the phone that you may or may not have seen. Your out of pocket should be minimal.

With AC+, the most you could be charged would be $99 (plus the tax). That's for a complete replacement.

So your cost will range somewhere between the $29 you were initially told and $99 maximum.

Meh. $99 would suck but I can live with it.

In the past I dropped my 13 Pro and it needed only rear camera replacement (3x lens wouldn’t take pictures correctly) and they did it for free with AppleCare+. I’m not exactly sure how because everything I’m seeing says rear camera damage = $99. Might be something to do with the lens, because both in that case and this case the lens was unharmed.

Well, I guess it just depends on your situation, LOL.

Two and a half years ago I dropped my 11 Pro Max. It landed solidly on it's back on concrete (I don't use cases) and the impact obliterated the glass to the point where some of it was just crushed glass.

The shockwave shattered the front glass from the inside. I know this because the outside was still smooth despite being shattered.

I was okay with only being charged $99 for replacement. :D

It sounds like you “accidentally“ nearly destroyed your phone. $99 is a deal, considering!

If that was directed to me, then yes, I nearly destroyed it. What was interesting was that it functioned just fine despite both the front and back being smashed.

I had taken an antihistamine prior to being where I was at the time and first gen antihistamines always make me groggy. So, my usual precautions were not taken.

I have not fallen often but fell and smacked my face big time on antihistamines! They have the same effect on me. I have to be very careful when using these drugs.

Unfortunately no useful info for any future people in this situation. I was verbally told it should have been $29 but they comped the repair when it was returned to me, but the receipt says $99 comped to $0. I guess lean towards $99.
