Hello, Let me say first I am not really tech and mac Savvy

A friend of mine got her HD partition Damaged during a boot up

The data is very important for a school project, I am trying to help her out but i am a tiny bit stuck.

Let me say first I removed the HD from the macbook fairly easy and I attached it to my Windows 8 system through external USB. Unfortunate I do not have any mac operated system but in very much worse case this can be tackled

The harddisk itself seems to be good technical / Hardware condition

I have trying to use some free various software,

it seems the HD has 3 partitions which is normal
a 200 MB partition Filesystem
a 500GB partition
and finally a 600mb revovery HD

If i want to acces the the 500 GB partition I am getting with a program called HFSexplorer an error (Could not find any file Systems on device!)
and then when i look at the info it says the journal needs to be initialized

Anyone has any clue or direction for me what to do?

There is something out there called "Mac Drive" (I think) that will let you mount a Mac HDD in the Windows environment.

Worth checking out.
