Apple made it extremely difficult to do any kind of repair on their cinema displays. The cables are hardwired to the display and parts are very difficult to find. In addition there are no repair manuals for them.
A common problem with these displays is the disconnection of wires within the DVI connector....which, over 5 years, happened to me. here is how I was able to get the monitor repaired.
I found, via this forum and others, the wiring pin-out for the monitor...believe me, you need to hunt for it .,.and it came from England. I purchased a male DVI connector over the internet. Then, I had a local, old school electronics repair shop in San Diego, V Dash V Repair do the soldering using a magnifying eye piece.
I contacted several monitor /tv repair shops but no one would touch the job but Russ at V Dash V said he'd do it. And it worked out perfectly.
The reason for my posting this info is to inform other owners of these once $1800 displays that you may be able to get them repaired but you'll need a repair guy who knows his way around a soldering iron and understands electronics.
So now, instead of selling the monitor for parts on eBay, i have my fully functioning 30" Apple display back!
