Hey Guys,

i have a 1st gen ipod touch thats well out of warrenty and the backlight on it has failed so as a result its next to impossible to see anything on it.

Does anyone have an idea how much apple would charge to fix this or would i be aswell off in getting a new one or waiting for the possible new ipod in September

Thanks Guys

id wait and see what happens in september. However... my 1st gen ipod touch had a problem with the headphone socket and sound would only play in one ear.. I was out of waranty (the year mark) but i went on apples site anyways and typed in my serial which is on the back of the ipod.

It was covered :D! and they fixed it and even replaced the scratched backing with brand new shiny unscratched :D

Im not sure tho since its been a long time.. but might aswell try and see if you can get it repaired for free... if not then yeah I personaly would wait and see what happens in september.

Thanks

I did actually go onto the apple site and they confirmed it was out of warrenty

guess you got lucky :)
