I need to take my iPhone in to be repaired/replaced/whatever they do.. problem is, i live in OKC, and the Apple Store in my area is closed for remodeling for a couple of weeks. Can I just take my iPhone to an actual AT&T Store? or do i need to drive 2 hours away to the nearest Apple Store? I've searched and didn't find too much. I remember reading once that it could be taken to either at&t or the apple store, but now all i'm seeing is that it can be taken to the apple store.

just cause i'm bored.. specifically my problem is that the screen sometimes doesn't respond to touch, and takes a few(5-10) seconds to respond to touch after its been asleep for a while and a button is pressed.. it didn't bother me too much until lately when i haven't been able to answer calls very much because the screen wouldn't respond to touch.. also when it doesn't respond to touch, the screen doesn't move.. i.e. the little slide to unlock animation is frozen.

I don't think that the AT&T store is going to be able to help you, as it will have to go to the repair depot. Call Apple Care instead. They will send you a RMA kit, and more than likely you will have your replacement phone in 48 hours from the time you drop it in the FedEx box. I sent mine in at 4 pm on Thursday, and the FedEx guy was at my door at 10 am Saturday. Even though I was a little miffed at the $250 I had to pay for service, and the hassle of the Apple store process, I was very impressed with the turnaround.

Well considering it is Saturday morning, I would just drive to Tulsa (1hr drive) and waltz into the Apple store in Woodland Hills mall. And see what they say.

Apple is responsible for ALL iPhone repairs. ATT will tell you the same. You have two choices: 1) make an appt w/ a Genius in-store or 2) call Apple Care and set up a repair claim.

How come you have to pay for it to be serviced? Mines has been in for repair twice now and they didnt say anything about paying. Isn't it still under the one yr warranty? Anyways yes the RMA kit is very fast when I called apple. Fedex PIORITY overnight both ways. The first time it was repaired I took it to the apple store. It was slower....just standard overnight, which means no weekend delivery. But yea after 2 repairs they got tired of me and replaced my iPhone. Oh yea the 2nd time it went in for repairs through calling them they offered me the loner iPhone to use for free.
