Going through an interesting repair process on my M4 Max MacBook Pro. Was using it when suddenly the keyboard stopped responding - confirmed bad by diagnostics in store. They accepted it and ordered a top case replacement.

That was over 2 weeks ago. Since then they have attempted at least 2 top case replacements and a mainboard replacement plus 3 other repair attempts that I don't know the specifics on - all without resolving the problem. They were pretty helpful for the first week and a half - getting me progress updates and such - but it's been a bit quiet since and they don't seem to know what the problem is, how to fix it, or when they will finally solve it.

I haven't dug into options too much but curious if anyone knows what is available to me. Can I insist that they send it out to a depot for proper repair? Anything else worth trying?

Where did you take it for repair?

To an Apple Store genius bar?
Or... somewhere else? (3rd-party provider)

If it's a gen-u-ine Apple Store, and they can't resolve the problem after several attempts, you ought to ask for the manager and then ask him/her for a new replacement.
