I really hope some guru here can help me with this really hard problem.
I wanted to restart my Mac. It was slow for some reason. During shutdown it asked me if it could install some security update.
Clicked ok as I thought I remembered having approved some security update in the past (but didn't want to reboot then).
After rebooting it gave me a screen I never saw before:
"macOS could not be installed on your computer
The operation couldn't be completed. Undefined error: 0
Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again".
From this it just returns to this screen after every reboot in an endless loop.
Tried Recovery Mode + First Aid; Cannot repair the Drive: "Must reboot in Recovery Mode to repair drive". Which I was already doing. Also endless loop.
Internet Recovery mode wants to install Big Sur, which I approved, but that also ends with the same
"macOS could not be installed on your computer" screen..
Entered Recovery Mode and started Terminal.
Learned how to navigate through the drives and ran the diskutil verifyVolume and verifyDisk commands.
The disk0s2 Volume checked out fine.
The disk0 disk did not.
Then i tried diskutil diskRepair on the disk0 and it told me:
"Unable to repair this whole disk: A writable disk is required (-69772)"
And that is where I'm stuck. I don't know the commands to make that drive writable...
Can anyone help?
