Here's what happened. I was repairing the cracked screen on a friends 3g but he told me he had a 3gs so I ordered a 3gs screen to put on it. Well I stuck the new glass to the frame and eventually realized that my friend is an idiot. Now I have a 3gs digitizer on the frame of a 3g.

Now I also have a 3gs that someone wants me to replace their cracked screen on.

My question is this. Can I just put the entire 3g front assembly on the 3gs since it has the 3gs screen on it? Will I need to swap the lcds? Or will I need to use my heat gun and remove the glass from the frame again which would be quite a hassle.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone reading this lol I tried to explain it as best I can.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

iPhone 3G frame only will work on the 3Gs.

3Gs home button will work on 3g
3g home button will not work on 3g

3g glass is different than 3gs glass
3g lcd is different than 3gs lcd

3g proximity sensor is the same as the 3gs

That should clear it up.

Don't mix the parts...trying to connect one to the other, can cause catastrophic damage.

Alright thanks for the reply. Looks like we'll have to remove the glass.
