I have a 3g iphone that may have had a little water damage to the earpiece by the previous owner. I am going to repair it myself (no warranty etc.), and need to know a couple things about the earpiece. First of all:

1. There is no sound in the earpiece. The headphone trick does not work. Restoring does not work. It's dead as a doorknob.
2. I've tried replacing the motherboard with some spare parts, to no avail.
3. I have laid out all parts in case their was any water remaining in the earpiece or elsewhere. All other parts of the phone work flawlessly.

What i'd like to know is:
Which parts would you suggest to buy? Do I only need the speaker, or do you think that the sensor flex cable needs to be replaced as well? I'm not quite sure how the sensor cable and speaker work together, but any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!
