Repairing optical drive - confusion

I need to replace an optical drive on a first generation 15" MBP

I'm looking for the part on iFixit - and I'm confused

A NEW 8x is $150
or
A USED 6x is $200

Is there something that I am missing?
Or did the used drives belong to famous people
