Hi,
This may not be the most appropriate forum to post this, so please point me in the right direction if not.
A friend of mine dropped her iPod Touch into a glass of water recently. After several days in a bowl of rice it now will turn on, but only when plugged into the apple wall adaptor that comes with iPhones. It won't power up when plugged into a computer so she can't even sync back some songs that were bought on the iPod.
Every time the iPod is disconnected from the mains adaptor, the time and date resets to 1am on 1st January which makes me think there is a
time backup battery also in there which has been damaged.
Wifi works, but signal strength seems to be lower and steaming video (such as YouTube or BBC iPlayer) won't play. Video stored on the device is fine, as is audio.
Looking online it seems that I can replace the battery relatively easily, but is it possible to replace other stuff to fix the remaining problems?
Thanks in advance for any help.
