Repeat last command - Command+Y -- is it gone?

It's been a while since I needed it, but in the old days there was a useful little hack that would repeat the previous command -- such as moving text to the center -- All you did was click Apple+Y

Can't find that anywhere on Lion.

Ideas?

Sorry, can't help but I'm curious; why not just reenter the previous command keystroke?

I think Cmd+Y is application dependent. MS-Office has it.
