My friend (video editor) bought the 2018 MacBook Pro i9 when it was released. He does a lot of intense work and his MacBook Pro overheats a lot. Recently he started complaining of repeat N keys.. could the real issue with the 2016-2018 MacBook pros be heat?

Honestly, I feel like that may have been the main factor for the spacebar repeating issue on my 2017 nTB. I played quite a bit of league on it, often had an external 1080p plugged in - so it often was between 55C to 70C.

I'm so disappointed in Apple making these unreliable devices... I'm an owner of a 2017 mbp and I haven't experienced any keyboard issues yet. But I can't believe the 2018 mbp is seeing issues this early! He said he's going to return it and get an xps

Good luck, my brother got a loaded $2k XPS 13. Thing restarts constantly under load. Laptop cooler helps, but still randomly restarts. Our office got an XPS 15 and it isn't bad - I don't like the build quality or the keyboard or the screen, but hey, whatever works.

I am only 32 but it sure seems like quality has gone downhill these days on a lot of things. Companies try so hard to have profits, they sacrifice everything and anything for this month's profit growth.

It's funny, I keep reading how Windows laptops have "caught up" with MacBooks when it comes to build quality (I'm speaking just of the physical feel of the machine). So I head down to Best Buy once and a while to check them out, and my god they all feel like plastic toys to me, compared with a MacBook. Don't quite get it... but then we all complain about how Apple is more expensive... I guess we get what we pay for. :)

But back on topic, I would experiment a little with the heat... I have noticed if my 2016 MBP gets unusually hot, the sounds of the keys change a little. Don't have any actual problems, but I suspect heat can play a role with the keyboard...

You don't like the XPS 15's screen? Really? It must be the 1080p matte screen? The 4K screen is absolutely beautiful.
