Reinstall the OS or take it in to get fixed.

Thanks for your reply but how can I take it in to get fixed? Do you think that the problem might be the Graphics? Frequently it crashes using Skype video and moving if watched in streaming goes stuck.....

Thanks for your reply but how can I take it in to get fixed? Do you think that the problem might be the Graphics? Frequently it crashes using Skype video and moving if watched in streaming goes stuck.....

Here follows one more kernel panic....please help me.....

Try booting in safe mode and see if that fixes the issue.

If yes then your computer has a corrupt third party .kext. Run hardware test from the included system disks and see if that gives you any information.

Cheers

Take it to the store (or AASP) and tell them that the graphics card (330M) needs to be replaced. Print out the error message here for reference.

Thanks for your help but this evening I did an apple hardware test and no hardware problem has been detected....any idea??

AHT is not conclusive. If it says there is a problem, then it's safe to say there is. However, a negative result doesn't mean that there isn't a problem. Your best bet might be to take it in, but I can tell you from experience you don't want to go in and tell them what to replace. Tell them the problem, let them diagnose it. If you go in and insist you know what part needs to be replaced, you'd only be getting them mad at you, which won't go over well.

This may be true, but the most important line in the diagnostic output is this:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.GeForce(6.2.6)@0xc80000->0xd35fff
This means that the GeForce kernel extension called for the kernel panic. There are few instances where that would happen unless either a hardware problem was detected (a faulty component that needs to be replaced) or a hardware mismatch was detected (as is the case with hackintoshes). The original poster also mentioned that the kernel panics occur at a time that would seem to be when the computer is switching between graphics cards, strengthening the claim that the performance graphics card rather than the energy saving graphics is to blame for the kernel panics. My advice would be to be polite but insistent that the 330M needs to be replaced. They will only give you a problem if you have an attitude about it. If you are polite but insistent, they will just do it to get you out of there even if they are not really sure what is causing your displeasure.

Sorry, but that's not reasonable nor appropriate in this situation. I have worked as a technician for many years now, and any time a customer insists they know what part needs to be replaced, they get my standard response that we will diagnose the problem, not them. Any good tech will not replace a part that is not known to be faulty just to make a customer feel like they were smart enough to figure it out on their own, that's absurd. And no, they will not just do it to get you out of there. Apple has fairly strict guidelines on troubleshooting and making sure that problems are accurately diagnosed before parts are replaced.

Well, while most customers don't typically know what the problem is with their computer (and, yes, I would agree that that is SOP for most technical service), but Apple is unlike "most" technical service in how they handle these situations. The store representatives are trained not to let the abusive customer get an advantage with them and trained to grant exceptions (not guaranteed, however) to the rules to customers who are obviously having problems with their devices, but are trying to get those problems diplomatically resolved. So, you could go in the store with an attitude and even if it is 100% Apple's fault, they are going to make you wait as long as they can to do the repair (and might even not do a great job with that) or you can go in the store and deal with the people there peacefully and you might even luck out and get an exception made and have work done for a problem Apple can't determine is their fault or yours. So, it pays to keep this in mind because it is true of every Apple store I've been to.

Now, while your position does seem largely justified (for most customers), it could result in less business from more tech savvy customers who don't like the condescension. Just something to think about.

Truly tech-savvy customers always understand. I've never had a problem with someone who actually knew what they were talking about. It's the ones who think they know something and are actually ignorant about a great deal that are problems. Typically, we're better off not worrying about their business. Doesn't hurt us to lose a few customer's who would only cost us money in the long run.

Hi guys and thanks for the help!!!

I have switched on my mac on safe modality three days ago, and increased fans speed using "fan control". It has not crashed anymore! Any ideas? Still sure that this is an hardware problem?

Moreover, I forgot to tell you that after one of those crashes, it frozen at the following startup on the white screen with the apple.

Cheers

Just because it isn't crashing doesn't mean that the problem is fixed. Please open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and post what you get from typing kextstat here while booted in safe mode.

Just because I understand it doesn't mean that I appreciate it. I know that the only moral good of most business today is to make a profit has more to do with your procedure than any sensible allocation of time (especially if the problem is known in advance). I'd say that if convincing others to fork over more money than something is objectively worth (how else could you profit?) is the only value that can motivate people then it is quite hard to motivate them to do anything truly useful. Anyway, I do appreciate why you do it. The lack of motivation for worthwhile priorities, however, is truly troubling.

Cheers

Not true....still crash :-(

Problem fixed.....

One week ago I brought the MBP to the assistance and they replaced both the Logic Board and Top Case. This has resolved the faults described above.

Final amount £1135!! Fortunately covered by applecare :)!!!

Thanks to everybody who helped me!

Cheers
