I am using an airport as my wireless router. It is down stairs in my study hooked up to my iMac. I just bought an ad today and am upstairs with it mainly. Well my wi-fi signal is lousy. My ipad is SloW!!!! My iphone4 with the wi-fi signal is a good bit faster I am really depending on this wireless router because I want to save on my data plan.

There are range extenders out there that might be compatible with Airport. Never tested them though, not sure if they work that well. Does your house have multiple floors? Is the router centrally located?
