Repeating broadband signal around garden

I know I could easily buy something to repeat a BB signal for a PC, but I want to be sure I am buying something that is suitable to use with this Mac.

We have a BT BB router - what should I buy to repeat the signal so that I can get WWW access in the garage area?

What comes to mind is the Airport express, but i don't know if it will work with your bt router.
