Dear MacRumors Users,

I've been getting a repeating message in Console lately:

7/6/09 10:31:58 AM mDNSResponder[24] AppendDNSNameString: Illegal empty label in name "."
7/6/09 10:31:58 AM mDNSResponder[24] RegisterSplitDNS: bad domain .

It's obviously something network related, but I just can't figure out where there's a . that shouldn't be there. Anyone's got an idea? Help would be much appreciated!

I'm getting this exact same issue, or close enough to:

mDNSResponder[16]: AppendDNSNameString: Illegal empty label in name "."
mDNSResponder[16]: RegisterSplitDNS: bad domain .

It may be related to the inability for one of my macs to connect to any others on the network (including SMB shares) and about twenty of the messages appear at any one time in the console.

Have you noticed something similar? Are you having networking problems?
