Howdy folks.

I'm looking to see if it's possible to replace the drive currently in my external drive housing with a new drive. I've had the drive open many times before, but I'm just wanting to know if there is anything else that I would need to be aware of other than remove old HD, and reconnect new HD.

I currenly have a 30GB EZQuest Slimline Firewire (I'm sure it's nearly identical to OWC's Mercury drives) and I want to replace the 30GB HD with a used internal HD from a PowerBook (which, according to OWC should be perfectly compatible).

Comments? Suggestions? Concerns? Thanks!

Should work fine, Careful opening the housing though. See previous. See Previous. Anytime. :)
Thanks! Yeah, that's the one part that I'm not concerned about as I've done that numerous times before. :D

The chipset should recognize whatever (within reason) capacity drive that I re-install then?
