Replacing "Generic" icons in Safari "Favorites"

if, when you try to add a website's address to Safari's "Favorites" what displays is a rather plain Alpha character ( usually the first
letter of the sites name ). This is because the site has provided only for a small "bookmark" icon ( or none at all ). To replace this
"Generic" icon with a more useful image, the following can be done.
Safari Icons.png

The following also works:

Close Safari.

Got to folder ~/Library/Safari/Touch Icons Cache/Images.

Open the pixelated icon with an image editor.

Resize it to 256x256.

Paste in a better image.

Flatten/rasterise the image.

Save to overwrite the original.
