replace lower case of mbp 15" with serial number?

Is there a way to replace the lower case for a mid-2010 15" mbp WITH the serial #?

There are places where you can laser etch the aluminum on your MBP case. It won't look the same but its better than sharpie

"Better" is subjective. Laser etching seems like a waste of money to me, considering it's just as official as the sharpie method and you can look up the serial number in a number of other "official" ways, but YMMV. Laser etching is not "better," just another alternative.

I think what he meant by better was that it will look better than sharpie. Not only that, Sharpie will wear out over time where as an etch will last.

yes thats how i read it, better looking cosmetically, not better at knowing what your serial # is
