I have a pair of first generation AirPods. The right AirPod can’t last more than 30 minutes of music playback. I’m confident that the battery is pretty much at the end of it’s life.

For those who only replaced their AirPods, how is the battery life of the charging case? Did it fall short after a few months later and requiring you to replace it as well?

I’m unsure if I should spring for the new AirPods or to replace the current ones for 69 each, considering there isn’t much improvement with the gen 2s.

Edit: Sorry about that. I made a mistake with the title and I’m unable to edit after posting. I meant to say “Replace or Upgrade AirPods”

How long did you have them?

Being that you need to replace both, and the price is so close to new airpods. Personally I’d upgrade.

I’m in a similar situation, except mine last a little over an hour. I’ll wait to see what happens with the new wireless beats, but replacing was never even considered at the price.

If it’s going to only be a $20 difference I would say going for the gen 2 is a no brainer. Not only do you get the new tech, you also get a brand new charging case.
