iPod touch replace with ipod touch 4g

So i bought this ipod touch 8gb about a month ago to 2 months and the button doesnt want to work i have never dropped or gotten it wet or had it in extreme heat. so i was wondering if i could take it to the apple store in a near by town and see if they could replace it with the new ipod touch 4g. is that possible?
