I've always liked the stock templates in Pages. I can easily drag my media over the stock photos, replacing the stock photo with my own, while preserving the integrity of the template design. I like this.

But now I'm making my own template. I want a placeholder image - I should be able to drag another photo on top, replacing the placeholder image; and my new photo should have same formatting that the placeholder image had. I'm unsure of how to do this. My template can load an image with no problems, but the placeholder image doesn't seem to be "replaceable" like the images are in Apple templates. Unfortunately, newly imported photos are simply dropped on top of the old placeholder, and exist in addition to the old placeholder, as opposed to instead of the old placeholder; also, the new image is without any of the placeholder's formatting. I don't like this.

Is there an option to make my placeholder image "replaceable"? Thanks
