Hi. my macbook 13 " 2006 fan was not working, i replaced it with new but still not working at all. smc, istat;, hardware monitor all read 000rpm.
Is the logic board at fault? reapplied thermal paste to heatsink...
BTW, Hardware monitor tells me fan speed max/min values are 6200/5800..is that correct? Thaks.:(

It sounds like a sensor is faulty or not properly connected on the logic board.

No, minimum fan speed is around 2000rpm.

replaced fan not workin

Got my hands on Apple Service Diagnostis and voila it reports failed test for exhaust fan...recommends replacing fan, and if that fails, replacing logic board if sensor is on it. However, all i see is the fan connection to board, i suppose it's for powering the fan...don't know where sensor is...will try to get a schematics. thanks for reply...
