Im very happy

was given Macbook Pro 2017 base model non touchbar and the keyboard issues, is a big no for me, i dont wanna wait for it to happen

im not into heavy video editing, im more into surfing, multitasking with browsers and office, and type a lot

so the keyboard problem is huge deal breaker for me

so, sold the macbook pro 2017 that was given to me for 1200USD here in my country, since it is very new

got the 2015 macbook air for 400USD, (the 2017 is still around 600USD here in my country and the minor difference of processor isnt a huge upgrade)

difference:

1. LIGHTER, the 2015 macbook air is lighter and easier to hold
2. FASTER in multitasking, with the macbook pro 2017, it gets slow when i opened too many apps
3. COOLER, the macbook air unlike the pro, doesnt heat, the macbook pro 2017, heats a lot, its really hot even in just web browsing and not yet doing those video edits

expected trade off that didnt make a deal breaker

SCREEN: i was worried because im also using aside from an iphone, a SAMSUNG Note phone, and samsung really has that great super amoled display, so my eyes are used to their display. was expecting a really bad display, but its not. but when using the macbook air, the non retina doesnt make me anxious or OC with the display, i even prefer the resolution of it in computer usage, bigger icons and fonts, the retina resolution makes the content smaller so i dont like it. even tried the youtube 720p option and it still provide crisp display. im watching it in a farther distance than my phone which i watch close to my face, but still the video on this screen is really good for me.

PERFORMANCE: weird, i find this macbook air 2015 snappier and quicker in multitasking, not trying yet rendering videos, maybe the pro will be quicker, but this macbook doesnt get hot unlike the pro which gets warm then hot

so macbook air 2015 is still the best macbook, the iconic glowing apple logo, the iconic macbook wedge shape, and of course the reliable keyboards

will be going to the US, so if I see a macbook air 2017 with 256gb storage for 500 or 400 USD if theres one will buy it surely

this is the best buy

the best apple products are their old ones:

sold my macbook pro 2017 for macbook air 2015

sold my ipad pro for ipad air 2

sold my iphone xr for iphone 6s plus (tho the big extra got from what i sold from macbook and ipad will buy it for iphone 11 pro max, im really liking the photos of the iphone 11, and the battery life of the max)

great buy indeed!

Congrats on your MacBook Air! I just bought my MacBook Air (the 2019 model) a couple days ago and I love it! It's so light and the wedge shape seems to be better on my wrists when I type. I didn't need a powerhouse, so the MBA works into my needs perfectly.

thanks I would like to buy the macbook air the newer one even the 2018 version (dont need the true tone) especially the gold color

but the price here in my country is around 1200 USD would just spend a newer pro for that one, in the US

but the macbook air is really light and quick

I’m in the US and I bought my MacBook Air at my local Best Buy for $200 off. Keep an eye on Best Buy prices as we get closer to Black Friday.. you might be able to find some deals.
