Hi Guys - I replaced the (broken) screen on my daughters 3G with a new screen/digitizer unit, but now there is no sound from the phone. I haven't seen it again since giving her it back, but she says people on the other end that she's calling can't hear anything either?

I'm guessing the #3 proximity sensor cable is maybe damaged, hence the fact she can't hear anything (although I was extremely careful?), but am not sure why they can't hear her, as to the best of my knowledge this has nothing to do with the microphone?

I did accidentally pull the old cable out of the #3 socket when lifting the screen, so maybe the new cable is OK and the tracks on the ZIF socket for the #3 cable are damaged, which would be a total nightmare as I'm not attempting to replace that.

Only a couple of £'s to try a new proximity sensor cable, but the microphone is more worrying?

Ideas anyone?
