replacement for frayed usb charger?

I just noticed my usb charger for my iphone 3g is frayed where the usb part connects with the cable i can see the silver wiring inside the cable is there someway to get apple to replace my usb cable?

i also just noticed it is warping (from what looks like heat damage) on the other side of my cable where the iphone connection is at

I would think if you called them or brought it in, they would prly replace it. They are pretty good about stuff like this. I have heard of others having this issue
