replacement glass and rear cover - genuine or aftermarket

Hi all

I have cracked Iphone 3gs front and scratched rear case.

Is it possible to buy genuine apple front glass and rear case to fit myself? or is the only option for this to go through an apple store?

The cost of screens from places like ifixit are very reasonable and I believe they have a good reputation.

The cost of apple store replacements is quite a bit more.

My concern is to get glass and rear housing of the same quality as original.

I think iFixit uses OEM parts, so no problem with Quality. If the apple price is only a bit higher than iFixit I suggest you to take your 3GS to any apple store. It's the only way you are covered if anything goes wrong.

I checked with ifixit and they use after market materials .... so does anyone else supply genuine spares or only the apple stores?

If you have your mind set on guaranteed OEM parts then the Apple Store is your only option.
