Hi I got my MBP in august of 09 I believe and sometime in the winter that year my hard drive failed. I took it to the apple store and it was just a cable connecting some component that came loose and they replaced it and all was fixed. About 6 months later this happened again and the same exact cable was replaced. About a week ago this happened again. I went the the apple store and was accused of dropping my mac which i most certainily have never done. The kid said its happened three times he thinks its my fault. I was alittle upset with that but he said theyd fix it since I have applecare and I got my computer back and this time they've replaced the HD and some brackets and that wire, but now my hd is making a faint noise. It never used to so thats why i'm asking. Its not loud and it sounds almost the same as the PC desktops we own at home but it just never happened before and I was worried. Ive seen a few threads about this but didnt find any about this after a repair if im wrong about that I do appologize. I do have another question about this seemingly recuring problem. Do you guys think that if it happens again (i really hope it doesnt) should I ask the apple people about a replacement computer because it is getting slightly annoying having to get my computer repaired so many times. I asked the guy the other day if because the HD has been repaired if he thought it would stay fixed and he said hopefuly and if not we could persue other options i wasnt sure what that implied but assumed it meant replacement computer. Im just wondering because this is my first mac and am not familiar with their processes and have heard so much about their reliability but sadly my mac hasn't lived up to that. I am a college student so I do carry it around alot but I have a case and a compartment in my backpack for it and am always gentle when setting my backpack down etc. Sorry if this was too long I just wanted to be thorough
