Replacement iPod earphones

Okay, I'm loving my ten-month-old iPod, but the Apple earphones just don't cut it: they're too big and they hurt my ears. I'm ready to buy some replacement ones.

What do you guys recommend? Here are my requirements: I'd like to spend less than $60; I'd like good, nonmetallic sound; and I'd like a small, earbud style design. The Sony Fontopia ones on the Apple Store website look good, but I wonder how they sound? And does anyone have a better suggestion?

I know that feeling, especially when that grey protection thing keeps slipping off.

I recommend going down to your local RadioShack and picking up their version of earplugs for about $15. (I got the blue version instead of the black.) It may take a few days getting used to the feel, but it's well worth molding your ears into the feel of the bud.

You'll be able to tell the difference clearly, when you go back to your iPod earplugs, how much more "noise" comes out than "sound".
