I bought a MacBook Air M1 4 days ago (16GB + 2TB) and its having issues - not wakening up form sleep and basically tried everything and Apple telephone support suggested bringing it to Genu=ius bar for check But I have erased / reinstalled to factory settings without any additional software on it and it still doew=sn't wake up properly without having to reboot. Even did Apple Diagnostics which says no hardware issues yet they still say bring it in.

Question I bought it online form Apple Refurbished store and have 14 day return
If its left with Apple Genius will my 14 day return be taken form time I get it back from Genius Bar which could take a few days - need to know in case there is still a problem and I ned to return

If in event for needing replacement will they replace with another fully spece'd MBA M1 given as mine was £300 cheaper form Refurb store and there are none showing in store now.
Worried I may just return it and forget Genius Bar appointment on Tues given it was a very expensive buy anyway. Maybe should just buy direct from Apple store and to refurbished again ?
Please advise ASAP

If it is within the return period just return it and buy another. You get no benefit for bringing it in to the Genius Bar. If it isn't waking from sleep when you are using it without an external monitor in normal laptop mode (ie not clamshell) then it isn't software that is the issue. It sounds very much like a hardware problem.

Edit: The refurbs show up sporadically. Just keep checking.

Thanks that’s exactly what’s happening to it - I guess you are correct it has to be a hardware issue in fact one of the Apple guys I spoke to said that it could indeed be that but though they may even just replace the circuit board inside and that would be same as a new computer for me if it fixed the problem.
lening to just returning it and get refund towards brand new one even though it’ll cost me more but at least it should be trouble free.
