Replacement Macbook Battery

I am looking for a replacement Battery for my Macbook but have been told that Apple no longer supply them. After doing some reading around there have been alot of people saying that some batteries damage the Logic Board etc.

The battery I need is an A1280 so do any members have any ideas where I can buy a suitable replacement that wont damage the laptop?

While any battery (including Apple's) could leak and/or swell and then damage hardware, you certainly want to avoid the cheapest options. I see that Newegg still has Apple-branded units in stock:

Apple still has the battery you just need to make a Genius bar appointment now.
