Replacement macbook - use old drive?

Hi , I had a a first gen unibody macbook, which I just had replaced ( applecare yay!) by a new 13 inch macbook pro.
The question is, should I use the same old 500gb (amazon bought) drive as is, or reinstall and transfer?

I installed it as is, the comp works, but I do notice some lag ( specially in network conection init.
