I have a Macbook and the power cable just stopped working last night. I was going to buy a new one online but then I read a few things stating that Apple are now issuing replacment cables free of charge, including outside of the warranty period (which mine is). Is this true in the UK? If so how do I go about doing so?
Thanks very much in advance

You call or go to your local Apple store and ask.

The broken part is usually the cable in the Magsafe jack or the one from the adapter.

I fixed mine by cutting the one close to the adapter, open the adaptor (yes it's doable) and soldering it back, no sweat

i had mine replaced for free, due to the light on the charger intermittently cutting out :)
