I am having trouble with my iPhone 5 power button -- it is very inconsistent and doesn't always put the phone to sleep. I am thinking of sending back to Apple to repair/replace and I was wondering if a replacement would be on iOS 6 or if they would have already updated them all to 7? Although this is not the reason for me, perhaps some others would not mind receiving a replacement phone that still had 6 on it.

What would happen if someone paid the $29 for early shipment of a replacement, then Apple did not determine that the phone that was sent in had a defect?

Got my iPhone 5 replaced at the apple store the weekend after 7 launched. The replacement had 6 on it but they upgraded it to 7 since I was already on 7 on my phone. He said all the replacements were still running 6 but the new ones coming in would be on 7.

This was my experience this weekend as well. Only I upgraded back to 7 myself.
