How is the replacement packaged? Is the retail box inside other form of packaging? Is it safe?

Even if its a brand new replacement? I was authorizes a swap.
They have always just been orders from the online retail store in my experience. Shipped from Shanghai in retail packaging and whatnot, the orders are just processed on a CS level. That is, of course if the order is placed by customer relations. If it's an in-store replacement, it would probably be the same but I have no experience there.

my replacement came with the retail package inside a courier brown box:p

Apple Care will send a brand new computer in a brown box. They will not replace a problematic machine with a refurbished item which is packaged in an all white box. I have had two replacements over the years and a search will yield the same information.

Was it safely packaged in the brown box against bumps etc?
Are you paranoid or something? Apple ships such a high volume of computers; believe me, they are packaged to a very high standard. You don't need to worry about it. Just sit back and relax. It will come in the standard retail packaging, inside another brown box for shipping with cardboard spacers on each corner in between the retail box and the brown one.
