I just bought a new NEC MultiSync P242W display I have have at different times when I wake the monitor up from sleep mode a snowy screen. NEC sent me a new DVI cable but still same problem, so they replaced the monitor. It was ok for a while but same thing again with the snow. I'm wondering is it the video card?
Here is my 2009 cpu speck:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro4,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (Per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 8 MB
Memory: 12 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MP41.0081.B08
SMC Version (system): 1.39f5
SMC Version (Processor tray): 1.39f5
Hardware UUID: DC14077C-E476-5BA6-A9CC-2C1F425C1DA2
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce GT 120
So My question is if I have to replace the card and I'm not a gamer but a graphic designer/Photographer so I live in Photoshop and Illustrator. What I'm saying is I don't need a super fast card even if the snowy issue on the display is the card I would like to up grade to the next level? What would that be?
