Hi Everyone -
My 15" MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo took a dive off the couch (slipped off the protective carrying case it was resting on, ironically enough) and landed upside down, scratching the case (who cares) but cracking the LCD panel. It's been usable but the crack is growing and eventually will require the display to be replaced (particularly because I travel with the laptop a lot).
I own a 15" MacBook Pro Core Duo that I thought I could take the display from (and then install the Core 2 Duo display in that unit, and just use it at home with an external monitor), but when I looked at the online how-to guides it appears that the Core 2 Duo has 3 antenna wires v. the Core Duo's 2 (making me think that the two displays are not compatible with each other?)
Does anyone know if I can do this swap, or will I have to find a replacement LCD online somewhere? (And if so, where's the best deal to replace just the LCD? Or would I be better off replacing the entire display case unit?)
Thanks,
Dan
