Another indecisive upgrader - please help!

My trusty 2011 MBP (15' / 2.0GHz i7 quad core / 8GB / 1TB aftermarket fusion-ish drive) is circling the drain and I'm ready to upgrade, but as with many others I'm torn between the various options apple offers at much the same price point. Use it for standard office/email/web stuff but also have loads of photos and do some occasional video editing.

I think I want the 2018 13" MBP with 8gb RAM and 256 SSD, but is the step up in CPU and GPU over the equivalently spec'd 2018 MBA worth the ~£300 outlay? Looking at the apple refurb route (or maybe John Lewis, for £60 more get their 2 year guarantee).

Also I'm worried about the step down in storage. I have 85% of the 1tb drive filled but a lot of that is music and movies/GoPro footage that I can offload to Apple Music / an external drive. But for similar price to that MBP i could up an Air to 512gb... would this be the better bet? Or should I push out to 512 on a MBP?

Or (and I did say I was being indecisive!) will I be fine with the 256gb and be better getting 16gb RAM??

Argh. Sorry / thanks in advance!
