So my LCD backlight just randomly (and cruelly) went out one day. I'm not quite sure why as I didn't drop or abuse the computer in any way, but I did my best to test the problem. After popping off the hinge cover, I discovered that if I jiggled the inverter cable and made sure the screen was positioned just right, the light would come back , if only fleetingly. However, it seems those makeshift tricks no longer work. I tried replacing the inverter itself, but that didn't help, so my next step is replacing the inverter cable. Unforunately, I've scoured the internet trying to find a guide or a video showing me how to do this, and I've been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know where I can snag one...or would anyone be kind enough to provide me with their own step-by-step anaylsis? :D

This seems a bit obvious, but was it not on iFixit? try one of their full tear-downs.

I did search there, but perhaps not hard enough. I'll head back and be more diligent.
