Replacing A1278 battery with A1181 battery

Can anyone confirm this is possible or a good idea, or not?

I have the late 2008 unibody and can get a battery from a 2007 White Macbook.

This site says under A1181:

"This battery is compatible with any 13" Macbook."

That battery will not work in a unibody Macbook.

I wouldn't trust or recommend any non-Apple battery, due to the number of problems reported with "knockoff" batteries. Also, there is no assurance that knockoff batteries have the same charging technology that Apple uses, involving the battery, the MagSafe adapter and the Mac's logic board.
