hi,

i have a g3 ibook 500 mhz with 2 usb ports. the clocl and date dont stay set so i think i need to replace the back up battery. im wondering how difficult this is to do on it. om my g3 powerbook it was fairly simple.

thanks in advance for the help

The G3 iBook series does not have a separate PRAM battery.

Most of the time problems like you are describing are caused by the laptop battery disconnecting itself when not seated firmly, or being picked up by one corner allowing the body of the iBook to flex.

hmm that would explain it then, the clock started loosing memory after i took the battery out to see if it really was a new battery like the person i bought it from said it is and according to the date code it is maybe i didnt reconnect it good enough.

Thanks,
