Replacing Hard drive question

Hello everyone

I am going to get this bundle located here which includes the seagate momentus xt.

First question, anyone have any experience with this drive?

Also, I never replaced a hard drive in my macbook pro. Can I just put the seagate momentus xt in the external inclosure, transfer my files to it and then put it into my macbook pro? I am not to familiar with the process but that makes sense, any help would be great, thanks!
