i just bought a 700mhz eMac for $20 the only thing is that it does have a hd or ram... i am going to bestbuy this weekend to buy both, however i have read that the hd in the eMac needs to be smaller than a regular hard drive. I want at least 250gb to store all of my movies and and music, however if i have to buy a smaller size that will fit into the emac and then just buy an external hd i could do that to... Just asking for advice and hoping that someone could help me save a couple bucks along the way with some recomendations.

No, you should be fine with any 3.5 ide hard drive.
I too want to upgrade my emac with a larger hard drive. I also have a 700 MHZ g4 emac.

I just upgraded the ram to 1 gig. It was very picky with three ram. I went through 3 different brands from my local fry's. All were the right spec, but would just crash or would not pass apple's hard ware test.

This was until I ordered ram from OWC

Good luck
