Anyone done this before? I dont know much about this as I"ve never tried to replace a HDD in a notebook before. I've looked at a guide or two and it looked sort of difficult. Just curious if anyone out there had any quick tips or any first timers who've tried this recently?

It's not too hard, but have some guts and a good guide, like ifixit.
You'll crap yourself and it's pretty difficult, but worth it.
Quick tip: Patience. It might take 9 hours for you to do, but if you don't break anything, it's worth it
