I own a 2011 27 inch iMac, and i am thinking about getting a 120Gb SSD. I don't want to open up the computer myself, if i bring the drive to the apple store would they put it in for me?

No.
You could wait for external Thunderbolt enclosures and then put the SSD inside that.
For now you could even use a Firewire 800 enclosure for 2.5" S-ATA HDDs and SSDs.

Local AASP might switch them out for you. Make sure they are willing to do your exact model. I asked if my local place could install an additional SSD; at first they told me definitely then called back and said absolutely not. I did it myself and found that pulling it all apart wasn't that bad.
