Replacing Macbook Top Case: Version?

I need to replace the top case (keyboard,case,trackpad assembly) on my Macbook. The one's on ebay are listed as version 1 and version 2. I'm pretty sure mine is version 1 (1.83ghz Core duo), but will version 2 work?

Yes, version 2 (silver cable) and version 1 (orange cable) will work with your original MacBook.

AFAIK the top cases are the same, but I could be wrong since the ports are difference. If you post a link to it we can try to identify it.

Is it cracked? Have you tried taking it to a Genius Bar to get it replaced?
