My 2006 MBP 2.33 15" suffered a severe case of damp when i drove through a carwash with a gap in the passenger window :(

Now, the battery is at 0%, and there is no light on the power supply, though MBP recognises the plug (plug icon up top right) and works fine on power, the battery is not charging.

a) does this sound like I need to replace the sound/dc inboard card?
b) is it a relatively straightforward job? (am fairly confident)
c) I've seen one on ebay from a 2GHz MBP. Will this work?
d) If not, where can i buy a cheap/used one?

Thanks all,

Matt

Hi - thanks very much for this. seems doable.

Looks like it might be the problem.

Do you know if a sound/dc board from a 2MHz machine will work, or is it different?

thanks
matt
